Meet Rubi! Rubi is a tiny 4-year-old Yorkie with a big heart, a resilient spirit, and so much love to give. After surviving a traumatic dog attack and undergoing surgery to repair her chest, Rubi has made an incredible recovery and is now ready to start her next chapter of finding a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and truly at ease.

Despite everything she’s been through, Rubi absolutely adores people. Once she knows you, she becomes deeply affectionate, offering sweet kisses and happily soaking up attention. She loves being close to her humans, whether that’s curled up on your lap, tucked into a cozy sling, or simply by your side throughout the day.​

 

Rubi is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. Her past experience has left her fearful and uncomfortable around other dogs, and she feels safest when she doesn’t have to share her space or her people. In the right environment, her loving and devoted personality truly shines.​

 

She would do best in a calm, adult home or one with older, respectful children who understand her need for boundaries. Rubi thrives with companionship and would love a home where someone is around most of the day to keep her company and help her feel secure.

Rubi has a playful, energetic side, she enjoys zooming around and exploring but she also balances it with plenty of cozy naps. She walks nicely on leash, checks in with her person, and is happiest when she’s connected to her humans.

Like many small dogs, she will benefit from continued support with potty training and structure, as well as regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. She will also need a dental cleaning in the near future.

Rubi may need a little time to build trust, but for the right person, she will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion. She’s looking for someone who will respect her boundaries, understand her past, and give her the safe, loving home she deserves.
