Archie

Meet Archie, the pint-sized Arabian! His sensitive and affectionate nature has made this 14.2hh gelding a favorite in our training facility, and his floating gait, playful attitude, and shimmering sorrel coat belie his 20 years of age.  With 30+ days of professional training, Archie is going well at the walk, trot and canter under saddle. With a little more training under his belt, he would make an excellent trail or light riding horse. True to his Arabian traits, he can be flighty in uncertain hands, but give him a steady routine with an intermediate to experienced handler/rider, and this beautiful boy will blossom. In a herd setting Archie sits around mid-pack, and fares best with horses of a similar rank. He can be possessive around food, so feeding in pasture would require lots of space between him and his herd-mates. He thrives in daily turnout with other geldings (he gets a little too excited around mares) but appreciates a cushy stall at night and enjoys the company of his humans. He ties, stands well for the farrier, and loves being groomed. He does suffer from allergies; there are treated with twice-daily Allercept Therapy oral drops which he accepts without a fuss. Archie brings a lot of heart in a little package and would be a wonderful addition to a suitable home.
