Socks is a charming 2.5-year-old domestic shorthair with a personality as unique as his name! This handsome boy is a lap cat at heart, but he prefers attention on his own terms. He’s known to greet you at the door and is highly food motivated, he even has a fun little routine where he chases and catches his treats like a pro.

Socks has fully healed from his FHO surgery, and his legs are strong, he’s now confident enough to leap onto tables and counters with ease. Regular playtime with wand toys or balls helps keep him feeling his best. He can also be quite the talker and isn’t shy about letting you know when he’s in the mood for snuggles or fun.

While he previously lived with children, we now feel he’d do best in a home without young kids. Socks doesn’t always give warning before setting boundaries with a bite, so he’ll need a home where people can read his cues and respect his space.

He’s also had surgery for a urinary blockage in the past, but with a special diet, he’s been doing great with no recurrences. A low-stress environment will be key in helping him continue to thrive. We’re unsure how he feels about other four-legged friends, but one thing’s for sure—Socks is ready to find a home that will love and accept him just the way he is. Could he be your new best friend?
