Greta-Heidi (Large)_edited.jpg

Emerald City Pet Rescue was founded by Vivian Goldbloom in 2013 with the belief that every animal deserves compassion, care, and a chance to thrive.

mission statement

Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country.

We pride ourselves on providing the best medical care possible for our rescued animals and rehabilitating hard-to-adopt animals to help them increase their chances of finding loving homes.

Our screening process includes a meet and greet, reference checks, and a visit to the potential owner’s home to ensure that the home and family meet our requirements and are compatible with the pet’s needs.. We do everything we can to ensure that loving homes are found for our adoptable pets.

Emerald City Pet Rescue is run by dedicated staff and volunteers who give their time and resources to house, train, rehabilitate, and care for our animals. Above all else, we truly believe that Love Can Save Lives.

About

What began in 2013 as a small rescue operation has grown into a multifaceted organization dedicated to helping animals through adoption, sanctuary, education, and community outreach. From our adoption center in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, to our 80-acre equine and farm animal sanctuary on Vashon Island, we are united by a shared purpose—to provide safety, healing, and lifelong support for animals in need while inspiring kindness and advocacy in the communities we serve.
