emerald city pet rescue

Since our founding in 2013 by Vivian Goldbloom, Emerald City Pet Rescue has been committed to giving abused, neglected, and homeless animals a second chance, rescuing from high‐volume shelters across the country and helping them blossom into beloved family members.
Our mission
We believe that Love Can Save Lives. Our mission is to rescue animals who might otherwise be overlooked, provide exceptional medical, behavioral, and emotional support, and then match them with forever homes that will cherish them.

Where We Are
Located in the heart of Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood at
20 S Idaho Street.
Our facility is appointment-only and designed to provide a calm, comfortable environment.
Our Facilities

We’ve built an adoption center that goes beyond basic sheltering. At our Seattle campus:
-
Dedicated play-rooms and socialization spaces for adoptable dogs.
-
Cat zones designed for comfort, enrichment, and behavioral recovery.
-
Full vet-care and boarding capability so every animal can be treated, stabilized, and prepared for a new life.
-
A team of animal care specialists, trainers and volunteers who work daily to create meaningful interactions, build confidence, and help each animal find its voice.
What We Do
Rescue: We reach out to high‐volume shelters and work with owner surrenders (when space allows) to bring animals in need into our care.
Rehabilitate: We assess medical and behavioral needs, provide tailored care, enrichment and training, and prepare each animal for adoption.
Adopt: Our adoption process is thorough ensuring a strong match between adopter, home and pet so that every placement is set up for success. Meets, reference checks, and home visits are part of making sure this is the right fit.
Our Promise
We strive to give each animal the individual care, dignity and time they deserve no matter how long it takes. From minor injuries to complex behavior or medical recovery, we are committed.
Why It Matters
Every adoption is not just one more animal off intake, it’s a life transformed. By giving a loving home, you are breaking the cycle for that animal, and helping make space for the next one who needs rescue.
Get Involved
Whether you adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate, you’re becoming part of a community that values kindness, second chances, and lasting impact. Explore how you can join the journey here.
