SOCKS

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Age: 1 Year

Gender: Male

Size: Medium

Declawed: No

Special Considerations: Quiet, calm home

Meet Socks, a handsome gray-and-white boy with a gentle personality and a soft spot for affection.

Socks arrived at ECPR after being abandoned on our doorstep in a tote bag on an extremely hot day. Despite such a difficult start, he's shown us that he's a sweet, friendly cat who is ready to learn what it means to feel safe and cared for.

Socks can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he gets to know you, his sweet personality starts to shine. He loves attention, especially slow, gentle pets, and shows affection with adorable head butts. Once he's bonded with his person, we think he'll be the kind of companion who wants to stay close and be part of your everyday life.

He's looking for a quiet, calm home where he can decompress at his own pace. When he's feeling nervous or overwhelmed, Socks prefers to retreat to a cozy hiding spot and take some time to himself. He's generally comfortable being handled, although he can become nervous if he's unsure of what's happening.

Socks isn't showing much interest in play just yet, but we suspect we'll see more of his personality once he's settled into a home. For now, he's perfectly happy enjoying his covered bed, soaking up attention, and indulging in his favorite wet food and Churu treats.

Socks has been around other cats and may hiss when meeting them, but he has not shown aggression. Any introductions should be slow and thoughtful. His history with dogs is unknown, so a home without dogs may be the best fit.

Socks had a difficult beginning, but he's ready for a much happier chapter. He's looking for someone patient who will give him the time and space to build trust. In return, he'll give you gentle head butts, quiet companionship, and the sweet bond that comes from knowing you've become his safe place.

Socks is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
