Tafari is a young, playful girl who is learning that people can be pretty wonderful. After coming to Emerald City Pet Rescue as a young mom with three tiny kittens, Tafari is finally getting the chance to focus on being a cat herself. And she is making the most of it.
Tafari can be a little cautious when meeting someone new. She likes to inspect things first and may be head shy at the beginning, but once she realizes you are a friend, she warms up quickly. One of her favorite ways to show affection is with a sweet head bump. She has also discovered that being cuddly can be pretty great, although she still likes having plenty of independent time, too.
This girl has plenty of energy and loves to play. Tunnels, feather toys, spinning ball towers, and small stuffed toys are all good ways to keep her entertained. She especially enjoys a good evening play session, which helps her get her zoomies out before bedtime. During the day, she can often be found watching birds from the window, spying on the neighborhood, or enjoying some fresh air from an open window.
Tafari has an adorable little voice to match her personality. She has a tiny baby meow that sometimes sounds more like a chirp, especially when she is talking to you from across the room. Once she gets closer, she will let you know exactly what she has to say.
Tafari is still young and is learning her manners. She can occasionally get a little too enthusiastic during play, and her sharp kitten claws mean she will need appropriate scratching posts and toys, along with some supervision around furniture. The good news is that she responds well to redirection and seems to learn quickly. She also prefers not to feel trapped or cornered and does best when she has the ability to retreat to a cozy hideaway when she needs a break.
Her ideal home will give her a little patience as she continues building confidence while also providing plenty of playtime, enrichment, and opportunities to be curious. A hidey bed or other safe retreat will be an important part of helping her feel secure. She may do best as the only cat, as she has not shown much interest in feline friends so far. Dogs are probably not her preference.
Tafari is currently a little underweight and is working toward a healthier weight. She loves Churu and small crunchy treats, which should make helping her fill out a little easier. She has been spayed and will need regular nail trims and monthly parasite prevention.
Tafari has already come a long way, and her personality is becoming more apparent every day. She is independent when she wants to be, playful when she's in the mood, and surprisingly cuddly when she decides you're her person.
If you're looking for a young cat with a playful spirit, an adorable little voice, and a sweet personality that's still unfolding, Tafari might be your girl.
Tafari is microchipped, up to date on vaccines and spayed.
