MILO
Breed: Terrier Mix
Age: 8 Months
Gender: Male
Size: Large
Special Considerations: Allergy management and diet restrictions
Milo is a big puppy at heart with a fun, affectionate personality that makes him hard not to love. He is social, playful, and happiest when he is involved with his people, whether that means playing, getting attention, or simply hanging out nearby. He has the cutest head tilts and a goofy way of showing his excitement, and once he gets to know you, he is eager to be your buddy. Milo has plenty of energy and a playful spirit, so he is looking for a family who will enjoy keeping him active, giving him plenty of enrichment, and continuing to help him learn and grow.
Milo loves attention and shows his affection with a wagging tail, excited greetings, jumping up, and plenty of playtime. He can bark or cry when he wants attention or is feeling lonely, but once his needs are met, he settles down. He can be a little vocal, so his ideal home will be prepared for a dog who likes to communicate.
Milo has lived with children, small and medium-sized dogs, and cats. He did well living with the dogs in his previous home, and his former family reported no conflicts with cats. He warms up very quickly and has been energetic and social with everyone here.
This boy has lots of energy and is looking for an active, patient family who wants to keep working with him. He is still learning his leash manners and can pull, zigzag, and occasionally try to chew on the leash. He is also still working on potty training. He knows "sit" and "down," and treats and hand signals are great motivators for him.
Milo would benefit from a home with a secure fenced yard where he can safely burn off some of that puppy energy. He is a flight risk because he really wants to be with his people and can be startled by loud noises, so his family will need to be diligent about doors, gates, and outdoor safety.
Milo does have some ongoing allergy-related care. He is prone to skin and ear infections and is currently transitioning to either a salmon-based, grain-inclusive diet or a hydrolyzed protein diet. His adopter will need to continue his dietary restrictions and regular skin and ear care, including weekly medicated baths and routine grooming. Further allergy or dermatology workup may be recommended if his symptoms continue.
Milo is looking for an active, patient family who is ready for a dog who is still learning, growing, and figuring things out. In exchange, you'll get an affectionate, playful companion who is thrilled to see you, loves being involved, and has enough personality to keep life interesting.
If you want a fun-loving, energetic dog who is ready to learn alongside his forever family, Milo would love to meet you.
Milo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
