Meet Charming! Charming may take a little time to get to know, but once he decides you're his person, he'll be sure to let you know. This handsome boy has blossomed into quite the affectionate cat and has become a big fan of asking for pets from the people he trusts.
Charming can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but his curious and cuddly personality comes out once he feels comfortable. These days, he's much more confident and will happily approach for attention and ask for pets. He isn't a particularly vocal cat and has a calm, low-key personality, making him a great companion for someone looking for a more relaxed feline friend.
Because Charming can be easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements, he would do best in a calm home where his boundaries are respected and he can take things at his own pace. When startled or overwhelmed, he may hide or hiss, but he has never shown aggression toward people. With patience and a little warning before handling, Charming is comfortable being picked up, even if he'd generally prefer to keep his paws on the ground.
Charming may be able to live with other calm, cat-savvy animals, though his compatibility with dogs and other cats is still being evaluated. He could also do well with respectful, cat-savvy children who understand that sometimes the best way to earn a cat's trust is to simply give him a little space.
Charming does have a history of feline urinary tract disease, so he will need to remain on his prescription urinary diet for life to help prevent future urinary issues. He is also working toward a healthier weight and will benefit from continued weight management and regular veterinary care.
At the end of the day, Charming isn't looking for anything complicated. He wants a safe, peaceful home, someone who will let him be himself, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the attention he has learned to love.
If you're willing to give a shy cat a little time to show you who he really is, Charming may surprise you with just how much love he has to give.
Charming is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
